In the 1967 referendum, the Australian population overwhelmingly voted 'Yes' to remove discriminatory powers in the Constitution.
Now we have the chance to enshrine an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Voice in that same national document.
It's time that Indigenous voices be heard.
I'll be voting 'Yes' for the Voice and committing to listening to the voices of First Nations people who are best placed to advise the Australian Parliament on issues that impact them.
Voting 'Yes' for the Voice is just one step along a path to embracing the Uluṟu Statement from the Heart and its calls for Voice, Treaty, and Truth.
